Privacy policy
Last updated: May 2026
Short version: we collect as little as we can, never sell anything, and delete article content within 24h.
What we collect
Email, name (optional), Kindle email, theme/language preference, and metadata of every article you send (title, source, date, word count). The article content itself is processed and discarded within 24h.
What we don’t collect
We don’t track you across the web. No analytics third-parties. No selling. No ads.
Where data lives
Supabase (Postgres, EU/US regions). Cloudflare R2 for the temporary EPUB. Stripe for payments. That’s it.
Your rights (LGPD/GDPR)
You can export everything as JSON in one click, edit your profile freely, and delete the entire account — we wipe data within 7 days.
Cookies & analytics
Session cookies (essential) and preference cookies (essential) are always set. Analytics (Vercel Analytics for page-views/Web Vitals, Contentsquare for heatmaps and session replay, Google Analytics 4 for audience and funnel) are opt-in via the banner on first visit — disabled by default. None of these sell or share data with ad networks. Revoke any time by clearing localStorage key 'folio:analytics-consent'.
Browser extension
The Folio Chrome extension reads the URL, title, and HTML of a single page only when you click the toolbar button or press the Cmd+L / Ctrl+L shortcut. It never reads other tabs, never runs in the background, and never tracks browsing. The captured HTML is sent to folio.today, used solely to build the e-book delivered to your Kindle, and discarded within 24h along with all other article content. The extension talks to folio.today using the same session cookie set when you sign in on the web — no separate credentials, no third-party services.
